Workcover

WorkCover is a governmentfunded insurance program that compensates workers for medical expenses, lost wages, and other costs associated with workrelated injuries or illnesses. Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. Depending on the country and jurisdiction, Chiropractors may be able to provide services covered by WorkCover.

If you have suffered a workplace injury any believe that Chiropractic care is the best treatment option for you, then you can use a Chiropractor who is registered with Workcover to help you get back to work.

The most common Workcover injuries that people see Chiropractors for are neck, lower back pain after lifting objects, slips, falls or catching heavy items suddenly. Shoulder injuries that require rehabilitation and imaging such as impingement or rotator cuff tears and also other pain such as sciatica, pinched nerves or disc bulges. There are other disorders such as general stiffness, middle back pain or chronic overuse syndrome in your elbow or wrists that workcover patients experience.

Your Chiropractor must accept Workcover patients before you start treatment. There is a bit of paperwork involved and not all Chiropractors wish to complete this amount of paperwork in order to start seeing a patient. Workcover can be extremely stressful for both the participants and the Chiropractor to work through. We have found from experience that Workcover injuries are often had by people who are important members of society such as train drivers, bus drivers, nurses, construction workers and more and therefore we see it is very important to be part of their management strategy in order to return to work in some capacity. It is for these reasons that we treat Workcover patients.

It’s important to know that if you are under Workcover you can only see one practitioner at a time. If you are currently seeing a physiotherapist and wish to see a Chiropractor you must stop physiotherapy treatment. Call us or book online for a consultation so we can determine if Chiropractic care is suitable for your workplace injury.
