National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

NDIS Chiropractic services

Currently, only participants who are self-managed or plan managed can access Chiropractic care through NDIS funding. Those who are eligible for Chiropractic care include participants whose needs and goals can be met through the help of a qualified Chiropractor. There must be relevant evidence for Chiropractic care to be provided that it is helping somebody’s disability.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a governmentfunded program designed to provide financial assistance to Australians with a disability or longterm health condition. The NDIS also covers Chiropractic treatment for those who have difficulties with their musculoskeletal system, such as mobility or stability issues.

Chiropractors can provide a range of treatments, such as spinal manipulation, joint mobilisation, massage, and exercise, to help people with their disability or long-term health condition. The NDIS can help cover the costs associated with the Chiropractic treatment, which can otherwise be quite expensive. The NDIS is an important source of assistance for those who need access to high quality Chiropractic care.

Our team have a lot of experience dealing with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and it’s relation to Chiropractic care. The director, Dr Justin (Chiropractor), has a team who travel around Melbourne and services NDIS participants at their homes. He has experience in writing letters on behalf of NDIS participants, helping them to gain other services through recommendations, treating a wide variety of patients with different needs, goals and helping people navigate the NDIS, finding good support coordinators who can help.

The NDIS is designed to work by giving access to services that people with a disability need, where they would not need that service if they were not disabled.

If you believe you could use Chiropractic care to aid with conditions associated with your disability then please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we will help you to figure out if you can use Chiropractic care or not.

The NDIS began as a trial in 2013 in four locations across the country and was introduced nationally in 2016. The NDIS was created as part of the National Disability Strategy that was developed in 2011. This strategy was based on the findings of the Productivity Commission‘s inquiry into disability care and support in Australia.

The inquiry found that the disability support system was fragmented and inefficient, and identified a need for a more coordinated, needsbased approach. The NDIS is based on the social model of disability, which recognises that people with a disability are disproportionately disadvantaged in society and need tailored individualised supports to help them achieve their goals.

The NDIS is available to any person under the age of 65 who has a permanent and significant disability, including physical, intellectual, cognitive, sensory, neurological, psychological, or social conditions. The NDIS is managed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), which is responsible for determining eligibility and providing funded supports.

The NDIA works with a range of partners to deliver the NDIS, including state and territory governments, nongovernment organisations, care providers and the private sector. The NDIS has been a game changer for people with disability in Australia and has had a significant impact on the lives of people with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS has made access to disability supports more equitable and has enabled more people to live more independent and productive lives.

I’m quite new to Innate Connection, but have received network chiropractic treatment at various stages of my life since I was a child. The team at Innate Connection have been wonderfully warm and welcoming. Dr Gretchen Balas has been providing wholistic support for my injury and it has been great to see that even after many years, my body still remembers how to move and breathe and gradually heal itself.
