Well-being is defined as the state of comfort, health and happiness that someone feels.
There has been some research into chiropractic and its effect on the psychology of people. Improving your feeling of well-being is generally a result of a psychological change that happens if you are doing things that improve your health. This might be creating a sleeper team, improving a diet, exercising really or drinking more water. This could also be balancing your work and family life, finding meaning in life or the reduction of stress.
Unfortunately for the chiropractic profession the scientific research is difficult to produce because usually nice in scientific research you have the ability to assess people with the same condition and give half of them a drug and the other half a placebo or fake drug and then compare the two groups to see if the actual drug is effective.
In chiropractic care it is too difficult to provide someone with a fake chiropractic treatment and also the conditions that are related to chiropractic care often don’t fall into the same categories. For example, people with headaches can have headaches from the upper part of their neck, the muscles in their upper shoulder, her jaw muscles, or they can be due to a variety of nerve and brain dysfunction such as dehydration. So there is no clear way to identify a group of people and then provide them with different chiropractic services or fake chiropractic services to then gain a knowledge on the effectiveness of chiropractic care.
Despite all this chiropractic has been shown to be effective for neck pain, back pain and muscular tension associated with a variety of conditions.
The truth is that the Chiropractic paradigm is not about pain regulation so much as it is about improving function, restoring spinal joint health and improving someone’s physical wellbeing so that their pain or dysfunction will go away by itself.
